RAINBOW

I see a rainbow,

So lovely and bright.

It made it's way up there,

Without a fight.

I have heard tales,

Of gold near the end,

But if I get it,

Bad luck it will send.

Still I want it,

That gold so near,

So I search and search,

There and here.

I run across,

A meadow so new,

And see the elves,

Cooking their stew.

The ogres are looking,

For their meal of the day,

And I just watch,

Hoping not to get in their way.

Gnomes so many,

Look from afar,

But help if futile,

And that's what they are.

Still I search,

Wanting money so much,

Hoping for gold,

Just some gold to touch.

Across the meadow,

Far from the elves,

Gone from the ogres,

Not to see shelves.

In the distance,

Something glimmers so bright,

And I see something,

Some of the purest light.

I know this is it,

What I have been looking for,

Then I hear something saying,

NEVER MORE, NEVER MORE.

But still I run,

Towards the glimmer so lovely,

And I stop,

Seeing a bear so cuddly.

But I cannot stop long,

Because my fortune is waiting,

There is no time,

For any bear taming.

I've come so close,

I see every coin,

Then a leprechaun,

Want's to join.

"'Tis my gold"

He screams from below,

"To you bad luck,

I will bestow!"

Was it worth it? I think,

Or was this not,

But I have won,

The battle I fought.

But the end of a rainbow,

Is so hard to find,

And not many can find it,

Only one kind.

The kind who see the bow,

With a love so full,

Like the hate for red,

From Rex the bull.

But as I walk away,

From that gold so much,

Now it is the leprechaun,

I want to touch.

To grab onto it's neck,

And squeeze without mercy,

To hear the cries of pain and horror,

And to teach it a lesson of no mercy.

But no, I think,

That is too harsh,

So I'll pick him up,

And put him in the marsh.

I turn and face,

The rainbow so far,

And now I know,

What we really are.
